OUR HOME CITY: STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN
Sterling Heights is Michigan’s fourth-largest city, home to about 134,000 residents between Troy, Shelby Township, Utica, Macomb Township, and Clinton Township. Much of it was built quickly: the population grew from under 15,000 in 1960 to nearly 109,000 by 1980, as neighborhoods of family homes filled in around the Clinton River and parks like Dodge Park.
Many of those homes are still lived in by their owners. About three in four Sterling Heights homes are owner-occupied, and only about 8% of residents moved in the past year. That means many interiors carry decades of repaints, dated colors, and trim and doors that have taken years of daily wear. Careful prep is what makes an older interior look new again: patching, sanding, and clean cut lines.
Sterling Heights is DLux Painting’s home city, so your project is close to home for us too, which helps with scheduling and with quick follow-up if anything needs a second look. We also handle interior painting across Metro Detroit, including nearby Shelby Township, Rochester Hills, and Macomb.
WHAT HOMEOWNERS ASK BEFORE HIRING AN INTERIOR PAINTER
“How much does interior painting cost in Sterling Heights?”
Every project starts with a free consultation in your home, and you’ll have a detailed proposal with the price before anything is scheduled. Single rooms start at $600, and whole-house interiors typically run $4,500–$20,000, depending on the size of the home, ceilings, trim, and prep needed.
“My home was built in the 1970s. Will it need extra prep?”
Often, yes. Many Sterling Heights homes carry decades of paint layers, small drywall cracks, and well-worn trim and doors. Dan checks for this during the consultation, and the repair and prep work your walls need is spelled out in your proposal before work begins.
“Can we stay home while you paint?”
Yes. Dan plans the work around your routine and moves room by room, with floors and furniture covered and the work area cleaned up at the end of each day. You’ll know the schedule before the first day of work.
